The University of Pécs Medical School portal features a sleek, modern interface and won the Website of the Year award in the education category in 2021.
The Challange
For a university where international competitiveness is key to its success, having not only state-of-the-art physical infrastructure but also world-class educational standards is essential.
The challenge was to create the online presence of a globally renowned "medical university," attracting students from all over the world and gaining international recognition for its research. The website needed to reflect the institution’s reputation, offering both exceptional usability and advanced functionality.
The Solution
The design process placed a strong emphasis on informativeness and delivering an excellent user experience on mobile devices. Achieving this required not only a carefully crafted responsive interface but also meticulous planning of the user journeys for various groups—such as lecturers, students, and those interested in the university's scientific activities.
The development was carried out in 2021 in collaboration with the backend team of the University of Pécs' Marketing and Communications Department, and it was awarded the 'Website of the Year' prize in the Education category by the Hungarian Marketing Association.
The result is more of a comprehensive platform than a simple website, storing course materials, knowledge content, and a 10-year archive of news. It provides users with seamless access to all information related to educational and clinical activities.
Technologies
Since we needed to support the display and management of a large volume of content, along with easy integration with the university's back-end, we implemented the interface using SCSS, which supports the creation of different themes and reusable components.
